JAIL N' BAIL  2017

Send your friends to the slammer for a good cause!!

APRIL 19TH, 2017

The Eastern CT State University Police Department has teamed up with Habitat for Humanity for this great event to raise money for both Special Olympics CT and Habitat for Humanity.
All money raised at this event goes directly to both charities.

You can participate in a few different ways:
  • you can apply for a warrant
  • get "arrested"
  • post bail to help save someone
  • get a "Get Out of Jail Free Card" to save yourself!

To POST someones BOND

If you'd like to help one of your friends, co-workers, professors, or relatives that have been "arrested", come to our Jail n' Bail location or click Donate above to pay online by credit card. Fill out the first page and click continue. On the second page, click ADD SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS and in that box type the name of the person you're paying the bond for.
At our Jail n' Bail location, we accept cash, checks (make to Eastern Connecticut State University), Eastern Express Cash cards, and credit cards.

Fill out a warrant for any person you want to see
“arrested.” Warrants can be found on this website, at the Information Desk in the Student Center or at the Eastern Police Department.

Warrants cost $5.00 and can be paid by check (made out to ECSU), cash, Express Cash card or by credit card (please see instructions on the warrant page).

Warrant officers will also carry blank warrants for the arrestee to get even!

Please note:
Warrant officers
WILL NOT GO INTO CLASSROOMS and warrants are not guaranteed to be served if information is missing or if we cannot find the arrestee!

Once a warrant officer finds them, the person is “arrested” and will be brought in front of the Jail n' Bail judge who will then set a bail (minimum $50.00). The “arrestee” is not responsible to pay the bail, and so they must call as many people as they want such as family, friends, co-workers, or anyone else they can think of using their cell phone to find people to pay the bail.

“Arrestee” will remain in Jail until bail is raised or until a reasonable effort has been made. No donation amount will be turned down!

Get out of Jail Free cards can be purchased before or during the event and used once in Jail. The cards are $50.00 before the event $75.00 the day of the event.
To purchase one, come to our Jail n' Bail location on Wednesday April 20th or click on Donate at the top of the page, fill out the first page and click continue. On the second page, click on ADD SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS - in that box type "JAIL CARD" along with where you would like the card to be sent or if will pick it up at the Police Department or the Jail n' Bail location.

Whether you're applying for a warrant for one of your classmates, professors, or your son, daughter, niece, or nephew, you can be a part of this fun and worthy cause.

For questions or concerns please contact LT. Tom Madera or Officer Dave DeNunzio of the Eastern Police Department or any member of Habitat for Humanity.
